We have various resources for job seekers that are open to the public. Feel free to come in and make use of them. No appointment is needed. Get directions and office hours here.

  • Computers - For job searches, resume templates, typing tutorials, and more.
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Microsoft Office - This includes Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Copiers - For copying resumes.
  • Job Postings and Job Fair Listings
  • Fax Machines - For faxing resumes out to companies who are hiring.
  • Scanning Services - To scan your resume so you can send it via e-mail.
  • Phones - To contact employers.
  • EDD Representatives - Every day from 8:00am to 5:00pm to assist you with Unemployment Insurance, Disability, and all things to do with the Employment Development Department.
  • Phones to Contact EDD - You can contact EDD directly to file unemployment claims or to get answers to questions about your claim.
  • Assistive Technology - Equipment or software designed to enable persons with a disability meet their information, communication, and mobility needs. Special computer software, TTY, screen readers, and more.
  • Resource Room - With resources that may help job seekers in other needs they may have besides looking for work.
  • Cheat Sheets - To assist you in various areas of computer use.

Offsite Services

Rio Hondo AJCC works with various community partners to help you in a variety of ways. Here are some of the services that we can point you toward:

  • Career Training - referrals for adults and high school students
  • People with Disabilities - referrals for job search assistance, transportation, indepndent living skills, help with assistive technology
  • Native Americans - referrals to various services for people of native american descent
  • Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services - referrals for substance abuse, parenting, relapse prevention, counseling, anger management, domestic violence, HIV testing services
  • Free Child Care - referrals for low income families who qualify
  • Home Improvement Grants - referrals for low income households that qualify
  • Food Stamps and Medical - information on how to apply

Our services are 100% free of charge to all. We are a federally-funded, non-profit whose aim is to help the public find jobs. So, we encourage you to come visit and take advantage of our programs.

Although we, ourselves, can not handle your unemployment or disability insurance, one of our partners is the Employment Development Department (EDD). They can get you started on applying for benefits.
